IPL Laser Therapy
At Allure of Youth we use intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments to treat skin problems ranging from conditions such as rosacea, redness, thread veins and sun damage to cosmetic issues such as lines, wrinkles, pigment irregularities and age/sunspots. Our highly qualified nurse provides safe and effective IPL therapy at our private clinic in Hartlepool.
Our nurse has an in-depth knowledge of how IPL can be used to improve the appearance of the skin. We recomend IPL treatments to patients with thread veins, rosacea and bothersome skin flushing to reduce redness, restoring the skin tone to more closely match the surrounding normal skin.

What is IPL treatment?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment uses high-intensity bursts of visible light. It’s a non-invasive (non-surgical) way to improve the appearance of your skin and it can be used for medical and cosmetic problems. You’ll normally see visible improvements within a few days, continuing for several weeks.
IPL can be used to treat freckles, age spots, facial wrinkles, unwanted hair, and other skin-related problems such as rosacea, (visible broken blood vessels on your face that often appear along with small pink or red bumps), as well as visible red thread veins on your legs.
How long does IPL treatment last?
Each session of IPL typically takes 20-30 minutes. You’ll typically have 4-6 sessions with treatments administered every 3-6 weeks. After each session, you should be able to get back to your everyday activities, although some people experience minor side-effects.
Your nurse will discuss what’s involved in treating your condition and answer any questions you may have. She willl be able to advise on how to get the most from your treatments – including staying out of the sun for a couple of weeks before and after your sessions.
How long does swelling last after IPL treatment?
You may experience some swelling after your IPL treatment: skin around the treated area may also peel and redden, causing pain. Any soreness typically goes away within a few days, while the redness may take a little longer.
