Cosmetic Skin Lesion Treatment

Our Cosmetic Skin Lesion Treatment service offers professional treatment for suitable benign skin lesions following a thorough clinical assessment.

Skin lesions can vary considerably in appearance, size and location. Some may be harmless but become bothersome because they catch on clothing or jewellery, become repeatedly irritated, or simply cause a cosmetic concern.

Before any treatment is carried out, the lesion will be assessed to determine whether it is appropriate for cosmetic treatment and to identify the most suitable treatment approach.

Depending on the individual lesion, treatment may be suitable for concerns such as:

  • Skin tags
  • Cherry angiomas
  • Milia
  • Warts
  • Verrucas
  • Seborrhoeic keratoses
  • Other suitable benign cosmetic skin lesions

Treatment options may vary depending on the type, size, location and characteristics of the lesion.

Your safety is our priority.

All lesions are assessed before cosmetic treatment. This allows us to review the appearance of the lesion, discuss any relevant history and make sure there are no features that would require further investigation before treatment.

If a lesion appears unusual, has changed recently, or raises any clinical concern, cosmetic treatment will not be carried out. Where appropriate, we will recommend further medical or dermatology assessment instead.

During your appointment, we will discuss:

  • The lesion you would like treated
  • How long it has been present
  • Whether it has changed in size, colour or appearance
  • Any symptoms such as irritation, bleeding or discomfort
  • The most appropriate treatment option
  • Expected healing and aftercare

Treatment is then tailored to the individual lesion and your clinical assessment.

Some lesions may be treated during a single appointment, while others may require more than one session depending on their size, depth, location and response to treatment.

After treatment, the area may temporarily appear red, swollen, darker or develop a small crust as the skin heals.

You will be provided with appropriate aftercare advice and guidance on what to expect during the healing process.

Healing times vary depending on the type of lesion treated, the treatment method used and the individual.

Cosmetic lesion treatment is only carried out on lesions considered suitable following assessment.

Any suspicious, changing or clinically concerning lesion will not be treated cosmetically and will be appropriately signposted for further medical assessment.

If you are unsure whether your skin concern is suitable for treatment, you can book a Mole & Skin Assessment first so that we can advise you on the most appropriate next step.
