Mole & Skin Assessment
If you have a mole, pigmented lesion or area of skin that you are concerned about, our Mole & Skin Assessment service provides a professional clinical review before any further treatment is considered.
During your appointment, we will take a relevant clinical history and carefully assess the appearance of the area, including features such as size, shape, colour, symmetry and any recent changes you may have noticed.
This service may be suitable if you have:
- A new or changing mole
- A mole that has changed in size, shape or colour
- An unusual-looking or pigmented lesion
- A lesion that is frequently irritated, catches on clothing or becomes sore
- An area of pigmentation you are unsure about
- A skin lesion you are considering having cosmetically treated
- A lesion that you would simply like professionally assessed for reassurance
Map My Mole
Where appropriate, suitable moles and pigmented lesions can also be assessed using our Map My Mole service.
High-quality images of the lesion are taken and submitted for specialist dermatology review, providing an additional level of assessment where this is clinically appropriate.
This can be particularly useful when a lesion would benefit from specialist review before deciding whether monitoring, further medical assessment or cosmetic treatment is appropriate.
Assessment Before Cosmetic Lesion Removal
Safety comes first with all of our skin lesion treatments.
Any mole or pigmented lesion being considered for cosmetic removal will be assessed beforehand. We will not cosmetically treat lesions that appear suspicious, have concerning features or require further investigation.
If an area needs additional medical or dermatology assessment, we will explain this and appropriately signpost or refer you for further review before cosmetic treatment is considered.
Our aim is to give you a clear, professional pathway from initial assessment through to specialist review or cosmetic treatment where appropriate.
